Unlike many left-wing, Jewish or black victims of apparent fake crimes, the conservatives of the Anscome Society at Princeton did not assume that they were the victims of a genuine hate crime when they received threatening e-mails.
"We did not jump to any conclusion about the facts of the case." said a former president of the society.
They were right, because the hoaxer confessed.
